Inspirational Spaces
I live in the smallest apartment in the universe. It has for some time been known as "The Mouse House". This is a difficult (read disastrous) thing for someone who has a lot of materials, old photos, clothes, apparently doesn't have a shred of "everything has it's place" mentality and inherited the dreaded hoarding and collecting gene from her mother (she doesn't throw ANYTHING out and was horrified when I threw out a roll of carpet when I moved out of my old, considerable larger apartment... I think she almost had a tear in her eye as she exclaimed "But you might need it one day" and had a definite smirk of satisfaction when one day I did!).
I'm never going to have one of those minimalist apartments with three things in each room (much to the disgust of some of my minimalist friends). So what's the alternative? Lately I've come across some wonderful inspirations for a home that utilities the whims of the collector to create spaces that showcase the different aspects of your personality and create wonderful, personal, ordered spaces without having to compromise on homeliness.Using these along with a great book called Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui by Karen Kingston, a couple of my fav of the moment blogs & websites (here and here), really useful articles like this, and inspiration images from House&Garden, Real Living and Inside Out, the Mouse House revolution is about to begin!

Who will you be today?
Everybody gets dressed...
(well, most people do... its ok if you don’t, we live in a very liberal society after all)... most people pop on an accessory or two... (again, its ok if you don’t... its just more pleasing to us if you do, or even know someone who does, otherwise we’ve wasted a perfectly good spiel)... but being the style conscious human that you are, you know that the perfect outfit... (ANY outfit).. is not complete without choosing the right piece from Kreated... exceptions can be made for those outfits that don’t require anything... (now REALLY, how often does that happen?)
With a focus on personality and fashion as expression of every side of the personality, Kreated designs and hand crafts jewellery and accessories from new and upcycled materials.
With the focus being expression of your own unique personality (...on any given day), Kreated also works in consultation with clients to create custom pieces.
Melbourne based and Australian made, which Kreated design expresses who you are today?

Whos that girl?

- My workspace could best be described as the “House of Stashes.” There are stashes of fabric, piles of cookbooks, a box full of teddies (with various arms, legs & heads missing), displays of finished work, random notes & quotes fallen on the floor, bundles of wool that never quite made it to their intended jumpers, coloured pencils, paper, metal findings, semi precious stones in abundance, as well as drawers and boxes crammed full of nostalgia. All of this is inspired & driven by an affinity and obsession with texture & colour. When exploring my background, it is evident that I have the vocational attention span of a child who, just because they still believe that anything is possible, one day wants to be an Astronaut, then a Ballerina, next a Mud Wrestler & then her best friend’s uncle’s pet cat. I have studied Journalism, Multimedia, worked as a Photographer, worked retail, managed an office and flipped burgers. And I still think I may want to try my hand at the Astronaut thing.
